OpenStudy (anonymous):

use PEMDAS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

get like terms together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x+10 = -4x+17 9x = 7 x=7/9 d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

isn't it b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah you're right sorry....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Simplifying 10 + -4x + -5x = -17 Combine like terms: -4x + -5x = -9x 10 + -9x = -17 Solving 10 + -9x = -17 Solving for variable 'x'. Move all terms containing x to the left, all other terms to the right. Add '-10' to each side of the equation. 10 + -10 + -9x = -17 + -10 Combine like terms: 10 + -10 = 0 0 + -9x = -17 + -10 -9x = -17 + -10 Combine like terms: -17 + -10 = -27 -9x = -27 Divide each side by '-9'. x = 3 Simplifying x = 3

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

erm close but not quite :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got c

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

yes, but could we please try not to go around calling out letter answers? :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can draw it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's d

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

jinx, in you're first step, realize that you have a -4x on the right so +4x when you bring it over to the left so 5x + 4x + 10 = -17 could you go from there?

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

@jinxhead20² stop guessing on your own questions listen to others advice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no because he put plus 17 and its minus 17

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@acxbox22 OK OK JEEZ

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

js btw, 5x+10=-4x-27 9x=-27 x=-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

np

OpenStudy (anonymous):
