OpenStudy (clamin):

Do you think Germany was to blame for World War 1? Explain why or why not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they did start the war then went in to a depression from the treaty of versitials where they had to pay for all the damage they caused to the other countries that they drug in to the war

OpenStudy (juicstice):

No they were not because they did not start the war the black hand did by killing franz ferdinand

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Partially. They invaded a neutral Belgium in order to attack France, which was the first attack of the war. However, relations between Austria Hungary and Serbia were what sparked the war. Germany is typically blamed due to the fact that Austria Hungary came out of the war a winner. Out of all the losing countries, Germany was the most to blame, so they were treated most harshly in the treaty of Versailles.
