A certain species of tree grows an average of 4.2 cm per week. Write an equation for the sequence that represents the weekly height of this tree in centimeters if the measurements begin when the tree is 200 centimeters tall.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it be a geometric sequence?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

200+(w+4.2) where w is the number of weeks. I believe that is it but I can't say 100%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would I be putting it in this equation form; an = dn + c ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry

OpenStudy (displayerror):

Don't even think about it in terms of the equation. Just from what the equation tells you, how tall would you expect the tree to be after one (1) week?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

it should be multiplied; f(w)=200 + 4.2w
