Can someone help me with a few Biology questions?

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

Yeah..sure..:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

Ok...So lets start with the first one: Antibiotics cannot be effective against Viral diseases..So the person will most probably be suffering from a viral disease..:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK. Do you know what type of viral diseases it is?

OpenStudy (abhisar):

The patient may be infected with a Noscominal drug resistant Gram-negative bacteria

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

wait..the qn is given BACTERIUM...so yeah @Abhisar is right..

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

I know the third one: If prokaryotes do not recycle nutrients, the decomposition of bodies will not take place..:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you finish up the 2nd part of the first question.

OpenStudy (juicstice):

I'm sorry medical shtuff is not me. sorry I couldn't help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm actually learning about plants and other stuff like eukaryote, prokaryotes, fungi, protists. @Juicstice

OpenStudy (juicstice):

what class is this for

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Biology

OpenStudy (juicstice):

okay, I just don't remember doing any of that in biology

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where did you even take your Biology class at then. This is high school Biology.

OpenStudy (juicstice):

yeah It was high school

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK then.

OpenStudy (juicstice):

Okay so plants I bet I can do.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Look at the 2nd question. Can you try to answer it.

OpenStudy (juicstice):

Organisms in the Plasmodium genus use a mosquito vector. The mosquito bites vertebrates and they become infected with a disease known as malaria.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks. I still need help with #1.

OpenStudy (juicstice):

I can only think of staff infections, but I wouldn't what type it would be or even if it is a staff infection because I would think that antibiotics would be able to treat that

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Plasmodium moves by the help of pseudopodia, there movement of plasmodium like protists is called as amoeboid movement

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are 2 parts to question 1 i need to know why is such a risk?

OpenStudy (juicstice):

it's a risk because if the infection gets worse then they would have to cut off the arm or you might die, atleast that's what I think

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Those diseases are collectively called as noscomial infections. Nosocomial infections are commonly transmitted when hospital officials become complacent and personnel do not practice correct hygiene regularly.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Its a risk cause they are often caused by drug resistant GRAM-NEGATIVE bacteria which are notoriously becoming resistant to antibiotics. Thus these are very difficult to treat or cure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All 3 of you we very helpful. Thank You.

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Anytime !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have a good day.

OpenStudy (juicstice):

thanks, I didn't think I was that helpful, but any way have a good day where ever you are

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You 2 @Juicstice

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

Wlcm!
