The idea of OpenStudy is that you get personal help, live tutoring. Doesn't matter if the question has been asked before. Generally it would help cheaters to get answers. Therefore we don't need a search option.

If you want to search for a question on OS, go to google, enter your query and add site:openstudy.com. It will only show results from OpenStudy

No idea... I've never used the iPhone App. There should be some reason for a search option there.
