Simplify the Polynomial. -4x + 6x^2 + 5x A - 7x^3 B - 6x^2 + 9x C - 6x^2 - 9x D - 6x^2 + x I think that it's D. Am I right? If not, what is the correct answer and how did you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

split it than foil

OpenStudy (shiree19):

I have no idea what that means.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I am getting 6x^2 + x

OpenStudy (shiree19):

ok. thanks. I was just wondering if I was right or not. But what happened to the -4 and the 5?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

they are like terms, so combine them....-4x + 5x = 1x (this is the same as just x) now we are left with 6x^2 + x

OpenStudy (shiree19):

oh ok. I get it. Thanks so much!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

sure thing :)
