When the lag gets too bad, I wave my magic wand to fix it.  See, it goes like this:

I wave the wand.  Then I email the dev team.  They flush buffers on the servers or reboot them if needed.  Everything starts working again.

The magic wand is very important!

no it wasnt you only. there was a time when i used to keep my computer on and remain logged in to avoid that death circle :P

Actually, both the hosting and the code are not as bad as you might think.  They use a distributed hosting system, but have spiked up to 1600+ active users at any given time.  This is a huge increase that happened very suddenly.  Putting another server in the mix takes time and can cause some fun, so they are waiting until after the test season to look at that.
