How do you figure out the square root of a number? @jim_thompson5910 I need a simple explanation I can understand. :)

it's just what number multiplied by itself equals the number. for example the square root of 49 is 7 because 7*7=49.

The square root of 2 is approximately 1.414213562, but yes, it is irrational, therefore does not have an exact square root.
