Solve each equation. 7x^2 = 49

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Are we solving for 'x' ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk it just says solve each equation

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Then yes we are solving for 'x' Step 1....isolate the x^2....divide both sides of the equation by 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my answer is sqrt 7 but im partially correct

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

That is because when you take the square root of both sides..what you have is \[\large x^2 = 7\] \[\large x = \pm \sqrt{7} \] when you take the root you have to add that +/- sign

oh ok thank you
