You mix the letters S, E, M, I, T, R,O, P, I, C, A, and L thoroughly. Without looking, you draw one letter. Find the probability that you select a vowel. Write your answer as a fraction in simplest form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u have S, E, M, I, T, R, I, C, A, the vowel are E,and 2I A ,means 4 vowel in the word and all letters are 9 so the probability that you select a vowel. = number of vowel in the word/number of all letter in it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) 12/5 B) 5/12 C) 1/3 D) 7/12

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

You can simplify the fraction you obtain as probability

OpenStudy (paki):

number of vowels/total number of letters = probability of vowels

OpenStudy (paki):

you have posted incomplete question.... @BellaNina865

OpenStudy (paki):

as here no of vowels are 5 and total number of letters are 10.... so 4/10 = [2/5] is not in the options....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

theses the options my school gave me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

these*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Total possible outcomes are 9...as the letter 'I' is repeated twice Totanl number of vowels =4...but since the letter I is repeated which is a vowel...total ways of choosing a vowel is 3 Therefore ...ans is (1/3)

OpenStudy (paki):

@mathmale please have a look here... kindly guide us....

OpenStudy (mathmale):

@BellaNina865 : Double-check to ensure that you have copied down the possible answers correctly: A) 12/5 B) 5/12 C) 1/3 D) 7/12 Please go back and count the total number of letters. How many are there, to start?

OpenStudy (paki):

@BellaNina865 please reply, so that members could guide you....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I fond out the answer, Its 5/12 because its 12 letters and 5 of them you might pick out could me vowels. sorry for the mistake guys!

2. You roll a standard number cube once. Find P(0). (1 point) REMEMBER: Probability is a ratio of total favorable outcomes to total possible outcomes. HINT: How many 0s are on a standard dice? • 1 • 1/2 • 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I missed two letters sorry for the confusin

OpenStudy (paki):

yeah that is 5/12... you have copied less letters.... @BellaNina865
