Which statements about the events of September 11, 2001 are true? Choose all answers that are correct. A. Passengers on three of the four hijacked planes managed to overpower the terrorists. B. Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda planned and carried out the attacks on the United States. C. The terrorists who carried out the attacks claimed that killing American civilians was justified. D. A hijacked airliner was flown into the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C. I think It's C and D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They flew into the twin towers in NYC, so D is incorrect. I think it is B. and C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought Osama bin Laden was the only one planning to attack the united states, not al-Qaeda . (so I think B's wrong)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B. , C. , and D. are correct the only one that is wrong is A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Osama Bin Laden is part of Al-Queda or was part of it anyways.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know D and A are both wrong, and almost positive B and C are right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D. Is right. Look it up on google. A highjacked plane flew into the pentagon is Washington D.C. which is a capitol building. It were all of America's governments secrets are stored.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Were there two planes then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There were four planes. Two flew into the twin tours, one into the pentagon, and another one was intended for another monument, but crashed in a field in Pennsylvania because the passengers overtook the wingspanpit.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wingspan pit sorry auto correct did that last one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wingspanpit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. That makes sense. Wow, I'm learning stuff here now too :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It won't send it here c o c k p i t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am having major issues with autocorrect on my computer sorry guys

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But didn't they fail to blow up Washington D.C. ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought the plane landed somewhere else...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No they hit the pentagon and they didn't finish all the repairs on it until two years ago I think. And there is a memorial right next to it with all the people who were in the building and killed and all the people who were on the plain and killed. It really is quite sad. If you ever get the chance I highly recommend you go see it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem! Glad I could help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait a sec.... I just rethinked it. D is false because the the Pentagon is not the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay good point. I was thinking a capitol building not THE CAPITOL building. You're right. D is wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea, It was a little tricky. Thanks again :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem! Sorry about that! lol
