One farmer feeds his cows 200 pounds of food each day and keeps 700 pounds in his barn. Another farmer feeds his cows 350 pounds of food each day and keeps 1000 pounds in his barn. What day do both the farmers have to same amount of food left?

I think the easiest way to look at this question is with a chart, so you can see what's happening. Wanna do it that way? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've never really used a chart before

It's okay, I'll show you

|dw:1401322583136:dw| So Farmer 1 starts off with 700 pounds and each day gives 200 away. So you're going to -200 from 700 each day. Farmer 2 starts off with 1000 pounds and each day gives 350 away.
