A committee of 5 was tasked with writing the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson was among the youngest at the congress and could write. He had studied the Enlightenment philosophers like the others on the committee. He also had the least amount of responsibilities of the 5 so they had him do the rough draft. He wrote Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Property. But the committee changed it. The full congress made other changes. But yeah. TJ and the A of E
