use a graphing calc to solve the equation 3 tan 1/3 theta = 8 in the interval from 0 to 2pi round your answers to the nearest hundredth
1.21, 4.35 were the answers i got but i want to makes sure i did it right
get a nice graph here
how do i find the answers by looking at this graph though
maybe a better one here, i restricted the domain http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=3tan%28x%2F3%29%3D8+domain+0+..+2pi
in the picture i sent, look to see where the curve and the line \(y=8\) intersect that is where they are equal
oh i see i hovered over the red dot and i saw it was 3.63 so after rounding that it would be 3.64 right?
yes, looks good we could solve it directly if you like, but i think you want to use the graph
if you have to do it in a graphing calculator it is harder, but possible
bro i freaking love you
thanks
lol yw if you have to use a graphing calculator for a test, do this graph \[3\tan(\frac{x}{3})-8\] and then see where it is zero
i.e. where it crosses the \(x\) axis some graphing calculators will tell you also
the answers are: a b d c c b d a c d
tangent function Q d d c b c b b b d c b
