So your answer was increased number of smooth E.R. I'll have to agree on that.
Alcohol addicts will indeed increase the levels of Smooth ER in order to remove toxic substances from the poison(drug) entering the cell. Which makes the smooth ER increase in drug tolerance. Therefore, the more drug intake the more smooth ER occurs on cells.
