Andrea wants to estimate the answer to this problem to see if her answer is reasonable. 7457 – 3908 Which expression shows these numbers correctly rounded to the nearest hundred? A.7400 – 4000 B.7400 – 3900 C.7500 – 3900 D.7500 – 4000

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK, do you know where the hundreds place is in a number?

OpenStudy (aric200):

Really..

OpenStudy (aric200):

7500 - 3900

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh lol put the wrong question up

OpenStudy (aric200):

C.

OpenStudy (aric200):

Was that off your little sisters homework or naw?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah @aric200 but we should try to help them visualize the answer and not just give it to them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And not be rude either...

OpenStudy (aric200):

I just said really?

OpenStudy (aric200):

And asked if it was possibly her sisters no rudeness implied at all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok.

OpenStudy (aric200):

Good stuff.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no how old you think i am lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So to help you understand what the problem is asking for, think about the nearest hundred... so it is going to have two zeroes at the end

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The general rule is if it is over 5, you round up and if it is less than 5, you round down

OpenStudy (aric200):

I just assumed that was a 5th grade level question but your other ones seem about 8th grade.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good job @jtryon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they give me all types of questions

OpenStudy (aric200):

Or if it is 5 itself @jtryon round it up buddy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, and questions range from anything so what may be really easy to one person may be tough to another

OpenStudy (aric200):

Because what if she had round 15 to the nearest 10ths she wouldnt know what to do because you did not train her for that. :P

OpenStudy (aric200):

Kidding of course

sammixboo (sammixboo):

It's C...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It starts at ones, and then tens, hundreds, thousands, and it can keep going depending on the number

OpenStudy (aric200):

Really haha a bit late there sam :P

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Shush it <u<

OpenStudy (aric200):

<3 You to bae

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nevermind, I see that it is closed :)
