Algebra 2 question!! Please help :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (jack1):

hi, do you know what i mean when i write SOH CAH TOA...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SOH stands for Sine equals Opposite over Hypotenuse, CAH stands for Cosine equals Adjacent over Hypotenuse, and TOA stands for Tangent equals Opposite over Adjacent :D

OpenStudy (jack1):

yep, perfect! so you're equation CAH=> cos 67 = angle at corner O = adjacent / hypotenuse

OpenStudy (jack1):

so if adjacent / hypotenuse = cos 67, and that reduces to the ratio of 2/5 adjacent / hypotenuse = 2/5 and hypotenuse = 100 in ur triangle.... can u solve from here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay! I see! When I calculated it I got 40!

OpenStudy (jack1):

cool, nicely done ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So that's correct right?! (:

OpenStudy (jack1):

yep, totes. anser = 40

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much! I understand how to do this problem now c: You've helped a lot!

OpenStudy (jack1):

np hey ;) slaters
