The elderly can have impaired immune systems, making them susceptible to infections that can take longer to heal. Which of the following would be most helpful in preventing these types of illnesses in the elderly? Older people should avoid exercise so that their bodies are not exposed to stress. Older people should regularly take antibiotics to prevent development of infection. Older people should be vaccinated for common viruses like the flu virus. Older people should consume large amounts of protein to boost their immune system.

Thanks can you help me with one more

OpenStudy (solidicecream):

Sure!

OpenStudy (carolina4567):

If a person eats hurriedly and barely chews his food before swallowing it, what effect will it likely have on his stomach? His stomach will have to excrete enzymes to digest carbohydrates as well as those to digest protein. His stomach will pass the food directly on to his large intestine without digesting it. His stomach will become infected because there was not time for his saliva to sterilize his food completely. His stomach will take longer to grind the food into chyme than if he had ground it well with his teeth.

OpenStudy (carolina4567):

Im thinking A or D

OpenStudy (solidicecream):

I would say D. His stomach will take longer to grind the food into chyme than if he had ground it well with his teeth.

OpenStudy (carolina4567):

OpenStudy (carolina4567):

Gtg Bye
