Wich pair of lines is perpendicular? • y=2x-1 and 2y=-x+3 • y=3x+4 and 3y-x=5 • y=-4x+2 and x+4y=6 • y=-6x-3 and 6x-y=4

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Do you know the "rule" about lines that are perpendicular to one another?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

Perpendicular lines have negative reciprocal slopes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Product of slopes must be equal to -1...

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

To find out what the negative reciprocal slope is, you do -1/slope So if we had a line with a slope of 3/4, the slope of the line perpendicular to it would be -4/3

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

@tanmaykhandait negative reciprocal is the same thing. When you do it, the product of the 2 will be -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry...didn't read ur reply...

OpenStudy (marissalovescats):

That's okay I was just explaining further :)
