A man of mass 50 kg is pulling on a plank of mass 100 kg kept on a smooth floor as shown with force of 100 N. If both man & plank move together, find force of friction acting on man.
pls see the diagram and help me with the answer!
The most important thing is understanding the situation. This guy is pulling on the plank via the rope around the pulley. And he's not sliding at all. But the plank is sliding freely. This plank slides freely because there's no friction, I mean. And, going back to the man, he's NOT sliding because of the friction. That is the friction that we need to find. |dw:1401409415830:dw| I'm not sure if I have time for this problem. Hopefully I can get to it soon, for you!
