Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Amendment IV The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probably cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. Passage II Fact Sheet No. 24 (Rev. 1) The International Convention on Migrant Workers and its Committee (May 2006) Article 12 Excerpt 1. Migrant workers and members of their families shall have the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion. This right shall include freedom to have or to adopt a religion or belief of their choice and freedom either individually or in community with others and in public or private to manifest their religion or belief in worship, observance, practice and teaching. Article 13 Excerpts 1. Migrant workers and members of their families shall have the right to hold opinions without interference. 2. Migrant workers and members of their families shall have the right to freedom of ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art or through any other media of their choice. Article 14 No migrant worker or member of his or her family shall be subjected to artbitrary or unlawful interference with his or her privacy, family, home, correspondence or other communications, or to unlawful attack son his or her honour and reputation. Each migrant worker and member of his or her family shall have the right to the protection of the law against such interference or attacks.
