Sometimes when I am really stuck I will go to this website for help ---> http://www.freemathhelp.com/index.html it will work when you go to calculators and type it in then select the type of method you want to use. I am struggling with quadratic formulas so I thought this would help.

use this formula to find out the value of x
$$x=\frac{ -b \pm \sqrt{b ^{2}-4ac} }{ 2a }$$
here a=-2, b=-4 and c=5
