I have an ball weighing 601kg falling at 8.99m/s final velocity. It hits a larger object and is deflected away at a 55 degree angle. How much energy is imparted into the larger object?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

whatever x turns out to be |dw:1401465860204:dw|

OpenStudy (amistre64):

KE = 1/2 mv^2 is our downward vector, and 55+35 = 90 so 35 is our angle inwards |dw:1401465988118:dw| x = KE cos(35) if memory serves
