The sides of similar polygons are proportional. So looking at your two rectangles, you note the long side of one of them is 9 and the long side of the other rectangle is 3. So you have the proportion of 9/3. 9/3=3 The short sides of the two rectangles are 6 and 2. So the proportion is 6/2. 6/2=3 So 3 is the correct answer.
