In a laboratory, an albino mouse was treated with a chemical, resulting in a somatic mutation that induced a skin tumor. The mouse was able to survive. What affect would this mutation have on its progeny? A. the mouse couldnt have any progeny B. the progeny would have been affected C. the progeny would have been normal. I am thinking A but I am not to sure. Anyone able to help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was wrong but I want to know what the right answer is. Would it we B?? It makes sense sort ofxD

OpenStudy (aaronq):

C. the progeny would have been normal Note that the somatic cells were affected and not the gametes. If the mutation occurred in the gametes then the progeny would have been affected.
