the variable x is an exponent. you need to bring it down. take the log of both sides (natural log "ln" or base-10 log, it doesnt matter): ln (9^2x) = ln (66) this makes: 2x * ln(9) = ln(66) solve for x by dividing both sides by 2*ln(9) x = ln(66) / [2*(ln(9)] (if you need a numeric answer, x = 0.953397......)
thank you!!!
welcome
can the answer be gotten by using log function rather than the ln???
