I presume this question relates to the perimeter of a rectangle, where l is the length and w is the width. If you know l and w and want to find P then P is twice the length plus twice the width.

If you know L and P and want to find W... \[\large P = 2L + 2W\] subtract 2L from both sides and Divide by 2
