Hi, I need help with an algebra thing! ... Ken wants to build a table and put a border around it. The tabel and border must have an area of 3,276 square feet. The table is 36 inches wide and 72 inches long without the boarder. Which quadratic equation can be used to determine the thickness of the border, x?
Can anyone help, I need this explained to me!
Welcome to OpenStudy. Ok let's start by sketching what info you have. Give it a try.
Okay well we know that the border HAS to have an area or 3276. It is 36 inches wide, and 72 long, but we don't know the thickness, x.
So, I guess we need to solve that x, somehow I just don't know how.
Well then, this site is dumb :/
If anyone is coming back, thickness would mean the area between the border and the table.
