I was just wondering where this person pulled 2/8 from. I just need to know so I can explain it. I'll fan and medal! (1/4) + b = 5/8 b = (5/8) - (2/8) b = 3/8

First step of the solution would be to subtract 1/4th from both sides. The problem is you can't subtract 1/4th from 5/8th by hand unless you're secretly a calculator. So first you need to convert 1/4 to x/8. Do you know how that would be done? That is how they got 2/8.
ohhhh thank you!
