Hanna makes her own furniture polish using 25% vinegar and 75% olive oil. Write and solve an equation to determine how much total solution she made if she used 3 cups of olive oil. Show your work.

Hey now it is Sammi, but actually the problem should be solved by this equation: a = p% x b

a - part (3)
p% - percent (75% = 0.75)
b - whole (unknown right now)

So now the equation looks like this :

3 = 0.75 x b

And now solving it:

3 = 0.75 x b

3/0.75 = 0.75 x b/0.75

3/0.75 = b

4 = b
