... With what?
finding the volume i know how to do it i'm just not sure if you have to half the triangle part because it's a triangle
The volume of that triangle with rectangular sides is calculated by finding the area of the one of the triangle sides, and multiplying that by the width, since this is probably hard to picture, you cut out the bottom rectangular prism that you have, that 2x5x2 box that you have, and focus on the top triangular piece, remember that the area of a triangle is\[Area=b*h=5*4=20\]now all you do is multiply by the width, which is 2 to get the volume
okay thanks!
wouldn't the bottom be 3*2*5 becoz of the bottom of the rectangular prism? @Embryo
my answer was 70cm^2 aswell?
Whatcha mean by the bottom of the rectangular prism? If we cut the Prism off the top, then that prism will have a height of 6-2=4, that width of 5 stays the same, the height of the box on bottom stays the same as 2, and that arrow on the side that says 2 also stays the same
One step at a time, take the Box on the bottom, completely remove the triangular prism that's on top, and only look at the box, it has dimensions 2x5x2
ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i see i am getting mixed up with finding the area of the net of the shape sort of thing, ok i understand now
thanks!
