Mathematics 14 Online
OpenStudy (amistre64):

Anyone simply posting shout outs will be suspended under suspicion of cheating.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What does it mean?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

anyone go to _______ taking ______ of course

Parth (parthkohli):

lol, one is sitting at the top of the screen.

OpenStudy (mstv1112):

I think he means shoutout like "Is anyone in connections academy" Things like that.

mathslover (mathslover):

o.O just a question posted : Is anyone taking Algebra II on FLVS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OKay

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

some people genuinely don't cheat that way... but okay

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then some people need to phrase their question appropriately

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Anyone taking Algbra2 at Connections? is not a question. Anyone taken the finals yet, i need the answers ... is not a question etc etc etc

OpenStudy (amistre64):

I need help, can some help me? is a vague question ... but permissable until they actually start saying: can you message me if you go to this and that ..

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its not allowed because it is not specific. there are way to many posts like this that are simply asking for answers instead of using the site to study with.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64 I recently posted a question regarding math books, I apologise for that . I would not do that again :)

mathslover (mathslover):

Well, @No.name , I guess, you can ask such questions in Academic Advice, will it be fine there @amistre64 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He actually said No to see above

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Asking for a math book is not the same as: Do you go to my specific school? Just make sure your posts are not vague and can be interpreted as an attempt to find people to swap answers with.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay....

mathslover (mathslover):

Oh, fine.

OpenStudy (goformit100):

shout outs MEANS ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the content of this posts defines it already. and @goformit100 , trying to report abuse this post as not pertaining to math is absurd :/ It is directly related to what goes on here.

OpenStudy (goformit100):

Ya I understand it sir but RULES ARE FOR ALL. Ok, but if I am wrong I am really Sorry.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you are in the wrong on this. This is simply a way to get the message across to the most users on the site without having to go one by one and warn them all. And yes, it pertains to the Math group. if you dont think I know what the rules are after moderating for what .. the past 4 year? -- feel free to enlighten me.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

or report it :) its all the same really

OpenStudy (goformit100):

Sir When ever I post such types of revelent topics related to Mathematics either than Math Question, I simply face the thing that is closing of that question by a MOD or Get Suspension. and is told that you post irrilavent question in wrong section.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

I havent seen your posts, at least not recently so i wouldnt know how relevant they are. But im simply a little edgy perhaps from having to see all stuff that the mods have to deal with being so blatantly posted without a care in the world. If memory serves, your contributions to the site over the years have been to make it a suitable place to learn and study ... which is commendable. So i have no ill feelings in this regard :)

OpenStudy (goformit100):

Can't this question be posted on OpenStudy Feedback ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it should be ... just havent gotten around to it. I made a copy of it for the english subject.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

feel free to make a feedback post and link it to this one.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ive got to tend to the kids, so good luck yall

OpenStudy (goformit100):

If it should be than why is it still open Sir.

OpenStudy (goformit100):

Will I be forgive for the same mistake which is being done here ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is posted in maths section probably because it is the most active section and this is very imprtant.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Most people are not active in OS feedback

OpenStudy (goformit100):

Yes that means As it's an active section, I MUST also do my 'Feedback' postings here and here only.. As by doing so I can reach much people in little time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Unless it is very important. But first become a moderator to that. And this isn't a feedback , this is a "alert" post given by a moderator. A moderator has the power not OS users like you and me and others I hope you get my point. Don't argue for the sake of arguing.

OpenStudy (goformit100):

But CoC :: http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct <--- Made by ma'am Preetha is applicable to all. I think it must be applicable to all.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This isn't a feedback

OpenStudy (goformit100):

At last I think it concludes that POWERFUL People can do anything. Let's wait for a better CoC which will atleast be applicable to those POWERFUL people....... then I must wait then for get to power of MOD here or even more here. Sorry for all My argues. @Preetha please excuse me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes , It applies to everyone as far as I think.

OpenStudy (goformit100):

Follow : http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

@goformit100 this was just a reiteration of the rules as plenty of people don't often read the small print. Such reiterations are basically a giant warning to everyone, so there would be less "why did you ban be without warning" complaints http://openstudy.com/terms-and-conditions "In most cases, asking for help on an exam or test, or helping someone during their test or exam, will be considered cheating by the institution or by OpenStudy. OpenStudy reserves the right to remove such content and/or suspend, ban or otherwise remove Users from the system who are suspected of cheating." That is the rule that is being reiterated, there is nothing wrong with this question post.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wat is with u people @amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

youll have to be more specific :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64 people cn post whatever they want as long as they don't harass curse threaten or anything like that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o_o even though its online help site,i think it is fine if one is asking question related to what they were taught wouldnt be fine if they are publishing their site

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Is anyone taking precalculus B in connections academy? I need test answers! (graduated 2 Fridays ago)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

their what-so-ever thing academy for instance

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

@amistre64 everyone knows that's

OpenStudy (amistre64):

this is an academic website, and we have rules against people abusing the site ... if you dont like it, then go someplace else.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

that's because the website is afraid to be abused :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no one is abusing it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ikatouni, thats simply a lie and you know it

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

What if the website abuses someone ?

Parth (parthkohli):

I am very sure that Amistre hasn't posted this unilaterally. It is supposed to be a general consensus among the moderators. This wasn't a rule earlier, but it is one now. The rest is your choice.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

websites cannot be abusive, they are not a real entity.

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

Haha Solomon

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Well, the mods that represent it. Not you armistre, don't worry.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thomasters tattoos can be rather obtrusive lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as a matter fact there is nothing rong with doing wat u said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is a rule , if you all want to follow then its okay otherwise get lost and banned from this site. Question is over no point in continuing over a trivial matter

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ikatouni, your repetition of utter nonsense does not some how make it turn into a glorious truth.

OpenStudy (i_love_my_nieces):

@ikatouni don't get your self banned. That would be sad : (

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Should I start this \(\normalsize\color{black}{ \tt huge }\) topic about how this website is abusive ??

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ikatouni is fine :) at the moment at least. they arent beligerent

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the only time the would ban me is if they now im right now don't lie moderaters and ambassodors

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol @amistre64

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

Well let me give my opinion as well : In a classroom, you are allowed to ask the things which amistre has asked not to do but only when the teacher is not teaching in the class. There is always a correct place and time for doing things. It applies to everyone, everywhere and every time.

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

I agree with @amistre64, we should honour and follow the suggestions given by moderators. We should infact think about them before believing on them blindly, but, we must try to understand the reasons (which I am sure many of us do understand). :)

Parth (parthkohli):

@vishweshshrimali5 Correct! If a teacher makes a remark on how you're not well-groomed, or you arrived late to school, you don't tell him that the remarks are "off-topic" and that the teacher would be "reported to the principal." lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, END OF STORY

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@amistre64 if u get suspended ur not allowed bak on again

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the first 11 posts on here make the point ... the rest of this is trivial :)

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

LOL ! If I would have been in school, I would have surely tried to give it a try with my favourite and lenient teacher. :) @No.name Not so sure.

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

Well jokes aside guys. I think we should be very careful while posting our questions as I will be. Thanks for warning @amistre64

Parth (parthkohli):

The drift-velocity of this thread is very high...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

had to go back a few hours, but here is a recent example of a shout out ... http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/538acfcee4b02fec90351eff

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if you read the code of conduct, you will see that your statement is utterly absurd :/ people do not get suspended over 'anything'.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I got suspended because of posting the work with steps, thorough explanation and answer.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

again, the more times a position is repeated does not make it more true ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yoo lmao im done

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

Majority may always win but its not always correct.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

Solomon has a habit of simply doing all the work for someone :)

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

Sorry for this joke @SolomonZelman Your hard work really paid.

mathslover (mathslover):

Guys, let us *NOT* question the work of moderators. Whatever the decision they take is right, and if you think that you were suspended without any reason, you can mail to contact@openstudy.com / abuse@openstudy.com .

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

Is it really the best place to do so ?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

The rules are rules. there is nothing about posting questions "do you need help..." posting work with an answer, saying that the user is not very very smart... and so there are a lot of other things that mods claim to be the rule, but from the os code it is not so....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then you would simply be banned

mathslover (mathslover):

It was just an advice. Rest is your choice.

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

well I don't have much experience on this site. So, I think I would best be off. Bye and have a nice time. :)

Parth (parthkohli):

Just saying, but... when you joined this site, you agreed with several terms and conditions. This includes that the site rules apply on everyone and they have been carefully thought out by the owners.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no not simpily be banned dis is wingspantatership and I simpily will no tolerate this in my kingdom

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dont delete my comments cause you're a sensitive little fool, lighten up.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

your conduct on this site is belligerent. Do not call people 'fools'. Spam will be deleted as needed regardless of what you think of it ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how long do you gget suspended

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

59 minutes, 59 seconds. that's is the time that I got suspended for.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol y would u get suspended @SolomonZelman ur like the best lol

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Posting the work with steps thorough explanation and answers, is the reason.
