what is the area of the kite?
There are 4 triangles in the kite. The formula for finding the area of a triangle is A = 1/2bh. The top right triangle's base is 2, while the height is 10. 10*2 = 20, then divide that by 2. Do the same equation for the top left triangle. For the bottom left, the base is 2, while the height is 20. 20*2 = 40. Divide that by 2, then use the same formula to find the area of the bottom right triangle. Add up the areas of each triangle, that will get you the area of the kite.
If that makes sense...
i'm so confused
The formula for finding the area of a triangle is A=1/2(base*height) Since the kite is made up of 4 triangles, find the area of each one, then find the sum of them. That would be the area of the kite.
414?
An easier way perhaps to look at this is that the area of a kite is\[A=\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }d _{1}d _{2}\]Which is one half of the product of the diagonals. Diagonal 1 times diagonal 2 then divide it by 2.
That's a good way of explaining it lol. I got all detailed and confused myself as well.
