Can Someone please check my answer Question: Part A: Write the expression x2 + 2x - 24 as a product of two linear expressions. Show your work and justify each step. (5 points) Part B: Rewrite x2 - 8x + 16 as a square of a linear expression. (3 points) Part C: Do the expressions in parts A and B have a common factor? Justify your answer. (2 points) My Answer:A) During factoring, we want 2 linear expressions to equal the given quadratic expression. Thus, we find that (x+6)(x-4) would equal x^2+2x-24 B) (x-4)^2 C) They have the common factor of (x-4).

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

what are the factors of -24 that add to 2 the larger factor is positive and the smaller factor is negative.

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

and your answer is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so all i have to do is explain it right?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

that's it and you have basically done that through the factoring...
