use the equation A^2 + B^2 = C^2 in your case: A= 5 B= 15 C= the number your solving for. plug in your values (5)^2 + (15)^2 =C^2 simplify 25+225=C^2 250= C^2 take the square root of both sides (square root) 250= C^2 (square root) C= 15.8113 round it to 15.8 which is B for you Hope this helps
