how are inverse functions used in real life?
say you make 13 bucks an hour your pay is given by this equation P=13h where h is hours worked we could rewrite this as f(x) = 13x but say we wanted to know how many hours you would need to work to make a certain pay, then we use the inverse function, which is f(x)=x/13 the first function takes input in hours and gives pay as an output the second function takes inputs pay and gives hours and output
okay, thanks!
Again, every time I use an inverse function, I'm alive. They are used whenever they are appropriate. When else would they be used?
In reading that I thought you were just a huge fan of inverse functions @tkhunny
I'm actually a little offended by this type of question. Why are we questioning the use of mathematics? We invented it because it was necessary (or at least interesting). We teach it so we won't send defenseless young people into the World. With a little luck, the learning of mathematics will instill a spirit of Exploration and Thought that will service the individual's entire life. It is utterly silly to sit down and consider whether there is any point to each subsection in an algebra book.
lol its just a term, they just mean applied math, but they dont know the term:)
I do not mean to offend you, I am doing my algebra 2 final, which consists of 10 types of graph and I have to explain how they are applied/used in real life
and I am actually going to keep on asking these questions for the rest of the day because I do not know the answer to them, so if you are offended, I do not mean to be rude; however, you do not have to answer them
Absolutely NOT offended by you. You keep asking questions and doing assignments.
