What type of line is the graph of 4x + y = -3?

I'd suggest you look at the POWERS of x and y that are present here. If both powers are 1, this 4x+y=-3 is a straight line. If one power is 1 and the other is 2, we have a parabola. I'd suggest you ask your question in this way: "What shape has the graph of 4x+y=-3?" Why? because your "What type of line is the graph of ... " gives away the shape: it's a line.
