Need help ASAP -- Write the equation of the circle. (picture included)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you need a center point and a radius .... any ideas what those would be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

center: (3, 0) radius: im guessing is 5 ??

OpenStudy (amistre64):

3,0 seems fair dont guess at the radius, its clearly available to you in the picture, just count from center upwards

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from 3 to ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh the radius is 6

OpenStudy (amistre64):

6 is the radius, good now, what is your best attempt at the equation using these parts? give it your best shot

OpenStudy (amistre64):

we want all the points (x,y) that are a certain distance, 6 units, from the center point, (3,0): all we need to do is use the distance formula to define these things

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x - 3)^2 + (y^2) = 36 ?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesome, thank you

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck :)
