Hi, I hope help me. Do a web search and read about Rootkit attacks. Describe briefly how it works and how to defend against it

OpenStudy (p0sitr0n):

rootkits are a type of virus that are pretty hard to deal with since they operate on the lower levels of programming (OS level), so normal AV programs cant do anything about them. They commonly mimic some OS behaviour with malicious intent. Well, to defend against them, gotta deep clean the OS with special tools (reg also), but just easier to prevent: dont download unknown files (any extensions, since its possible to bind many files and execute them together)

Assume you go to a local coffee shop with your laptop and use their free open WIFI network. Explain how a “Man-in-the Middle” attach could be a threat in this situation. Explain how it works in brief and general terms.
