A triangle with vertices (1, 4), (2, 8), and (5, 3) is translated 3 units left and 1 unit up. Which matrix expression represents the transformation?

Tbh I never did this type of problem before but from what I've tried to google shouldn't you translate each vertices right 3 and up 1. I have no clue here but maybe I should stick around to learn

ok... so start with the point (1, 4) 3 left means that x = 1 - 3 = -2 and up 1 means y = 4 + 1 = 5 so (1, 4) transforms to (-2, 5) apply this rule to the other points. x: subtract 3 y add 1 hope it helps
