Need help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I forgot the formula for this.

OpenStudy (anteater):

Area of base times height. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

48 is the answer but I got it wrong.

OpenStudy (anteater):

Let me look at it again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Go ahead.

OpenStudy (anteater):

I am not seeing how 48 could be the answer. Since the height of the prism is 8 meters and the area of the base is 93.5 square meters.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b8h is correct but once I put the answer it was wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b*h**

OpenStudy (anteater):

So the volume should be 93.5 X 8 or 748 cubic meters.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

notice it asks for the rectangular prism not the whole thing. The 93.5 is a distraction. It wants the volume of that rectangle. that would be length times width which is 6*8=48

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What was the formula for that one?

OpenStudy (anteater):

I believe it said to find the volume of the right hexagonal prism. In other words, the solid that was depicted.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, that's true.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, I'm going to ask another question. Not here I'm going to put up a new one.

OpenStudy (anteater):

Ok

OpenStudy (anteater):

I think the 6 is the actual distraction, since it was asking for the volume of the prism, not the area of one of the rectangular faces of the prism.
