zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmmm maybe I'm not reading the picture correctly, because to me it seems like the length of AB should be 7 inches. It's the length of the straw, minus the 1inch outside.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i think but the straw is also at a diagonal i think

zepdrix (zepdrix):

But isn't AB also that same diagonal? :\

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ya i didnt read the question right i thought it said AC :P lol

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmm AC would have made more sense.... AB is just the length of the straw minus the part outside the carton +_+

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks i have a few more questions, can you help me?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the length of BC to the nearest tenth of an inch. _______ (Enter only the number.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zepdrix

zepdrix (zepdrix):

BC is the diagonal along the bottom. Let's look at one of those triangles.|dw:1401683749301:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so should i use pythagorean theorem to find BC?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks! i got 5.7

zepdrix (zepdrix):

good
