What is the value of x? http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1422500_1423000/1422766/1/e13813bc0266c9c63531d42c0f65f0b1aa944614/MS_PA_131002_171215.jpg

Use your sin identity here. Do you know what it is? Sin(x) = side opposite/hypotenuse. You have your angle measure as 30 and the side opposite it as 12. the relation would look like this\[\sin(30)=\frac{ 12 }{ x }\]To solve for x, you need to multiply both sides by x, leaving us with \[x \sin(30)=12\]Now divide both sides by sin(30) leaving us with\[x=\frac{ 12 }{ \sin(30) }\]The sin of 30 (in degrees)is .5 or1/2. 12/.5 = x. x = 24. Does that make sense?
