OpenStudy (dejmccray):

PLease help kinda forgot... Which point is on the graph of y = –1.4x3? A.(5,175) B.(2,-11.2) C.(9,1021) D.(-3,-37.8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it x^3 , just confirming

OpenStudy (dan815):

the points are in the form (x,y) sub that in and see which one works

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Instead of giving answers, I will guide you and you yourself would give the answer

OpenStudy (dan815):

b probably seeing as its the only one wher the sign works out

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

if you dont like decimals, maybe you can get rid off them : \(\large y = -1.4x^3\) \(10y = -14x^3\)

OpenStudy (dejmccray):

thanks you guys

OpenStudy (dan815):

ganeshie8 did you guys solve that triangle question again?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

NO, the question is not over , tell us the answer

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

no lol that dude @No.name ran away the other day -.-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't ran away . Actually that was not a problem in my hw. I just found it on internet. And i had to do a lot of hw

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

did u try it again @dan815 ?

OpenStudy (dejmccray):

I got b cause I plugged in (x,y) @no.name

OpenStudy (dan815):

ya im trying, still nothing

OpenStudy (dan815):

i know a way to do it but its not nitce! we can use algebra/calculus instead

OpenStudy (dan815):

writing equations of 4 lines with angles 80,70 and -60,-80

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

wow ! never thought of a calculus solution xD here are some hints for elementary geometric solution : http://thinkzone.wlonk.com/MathFun/Triangle1Hint1.htm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Calculus , maybe beyond what i have leaarn't till now . I didn't get how u will apply calculus

OpenStudy (dan815):

ohh igot it! i think

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

really XD the original solution was like 3-4 pages long... and its kindof impossible by working it trial and error lol

OpenStudy (dan815):

OpenStudy (dan815):

im trying with these 3 lines, u can begin to solve for parts of the inner triangles angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did , u all see Bswan's cunning method of solving this ques
