"the produt of two consecutive integers is divisible by 2". is this statement is true or false?. give reasons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

hmm...the product of 2 consecutive integers is divisible by 2... (6)(7) = 42 -- divisible by 2 (5)(6) = 30 -- divisible by 2 (3)(4) = 12 -- divisible by 2 (1)(2) = 2 -- divisible by 2 True. Reason : when you multiply an odd number and an even number together, the result will be an even number..which is divisible by 2

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

just so you know... even x even = even even x odd = even odd x even = even odd x odd = odd
