What process accounts for species diversity?
What do you think? @imaniwalker ?
I was thinking it was predation but then i'm not 100% sure
Nope...predation cannot completely account for species diversity...:) They have specified the word DIVERSITY...so Meiosis is primarily responsible for the diversity among species..>:)
Can you explain that a little more?
ok then..sure I'll explain a little more,...:p Meiosis involves two individuals with their own sets of genetic information. In the process of Meiosis, the alleles are mixed up to create genetic diversity in the making of gametes...This MIXING up of alleles create individuals with a variety of characteristics..and thus genetic diversity..:)
Is it understandable?
cant i say evolution as a reason ?
@shreehari499 yes it is a little more understandable
Take an example of humans...Homo Erectus..for example..is there a American or an Asian Homo erectus.?? @Abhisar ? If it has evolved into Homo Sapiens..can we completely say that Evolution has resulted in the diversity?
Hmmm...genetic diversity and species diversity are two different things !!
Yeah...and they have specified species diversity!
@shreehari499 i'm really not sure what you are asking
but u wrote genetic diversity !1
Anywayss...thanx for clearing out the doubt @shreehari499 !
Oh sorry..I meant species diversity!!! One mistake in the word and the whole answer gets confusing...:) and @imaniwalker .dont worry, meiosis is responsible for SPECIES diversity!!
Thanks @Abhisar !!

Okay thank you @shreehari499
