OpenStudy (shelld93):

Find the Gradient and y-intercept of this line below and write the equation of the line.

OpenStudy (shelld93):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tricky because of the different scale on the axes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

looks like the line goes to the right 1, down 8, making the gradient \(-8\)

OpenStudy (shelld93):

oh i never noticed that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gotta look closely at the numbering on the hash marks on the y axis it cuts at \(8\) and on the x axis at 1, half way to 2

OpenStudy (shelld93):

yeah does that affect the gradient though ? Cause I thought it was 8 until I realized the line was sloping down.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is going down so \(-8\) not \(8\)

OpenStudy (shelld93):

okay what about the y intercept ? and i don't understand where the triangle is meant to go :/ Im really confused by all this :/
