In a candy factory, nutty chocolate bars contain 22.0% by mass pecans. If 4.8kg of pecans were used for candy last Tuesday, how many pounds of nutty chocolate bars were made?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

so it says that 22% of the 4.8 kg is pecans so the mass of pecans in 4.8 kg is 4.8kg*0.22= 1.056 kg according to google 1 kg = 2.204 pounds so to convert to pounds \( 1.056 kg*\dfrac{2.2~lbs}{1~kg}=2.3 ~lbs\) there are 2.3 lbs of pecans
