Explain three ways that gene expression can be controlled.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Somy could you help me please?

OpenStudy (somy):

ah can u tell me what you do know about this topic?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have 2 answers I just need a third one activation/deactivation of transcription controls gene expression. groups of codons decide the amino acids produce and helping control the gene expressions

OpenStudy (somy):

hmmm

OpenStudy (somy):

may be semi-conservative DNA replication?

OpenStudy (somy):

let me check it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mRNA?

OpenStudy (somy):

transcription is mRNA production

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can we measure gene expression by looking at the mRNA or at the protein?

OpenStudy (somy):

owh here u go a very nice pic http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Gene_expression_control.png

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you give me a sentence to write :D?

OpenStudy (somy):

yes, since mRNA is to be transported out for translation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So my sentence is good?

OpenStudy (somy):

u can say that say it this way mRNA translation is controlled by mRNA having a poly A tail

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thank you @Somy !!!!!!

OpenStudy (somy):

meaning that poly A tail at the end of each mRNA controls how much of mRNA can be translated :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I figured that :D

OpenStudy (somy):

you are welcome) @PTVisME
