How do i know if choosing a number, and then flipping a coin, is independent or dependent?

Hmm whatever number you choose has no impact on your coin flip.
Your coin flip is independent of the first choice.

I think that is what's going on at least <.<

Gah thats what I put. These are for test corrections/ extra credit, and my teacher told me that answer was wrong. How dumb. im so confused as to why that answer is wrong.
